Trust Your Jeepney

So me and the Trust Your Struggle Crew have been funraising for the last few months for our Sa Pilipinas Mural Tour this year. We had a couple Fundraisers here and there and we recently kicked off our Kickstarter Project. I cut up a video for us to use just to give some folks dope visuals on what the project is about. We been rolling since 2004 to international territories so we got a lot of stories and walls under our belt.

The Stuyvesants – Brooklyn’s Finest

My homie broham Allan Cole put me on to this music project he said he has been working on for about a year now. I got really excited just hearing him talk about it, couple hours later i get the email. It pretty much surpassed my expectations. I’ve always been a fan of his design work but have not really had a chance to dive into and admire his music, and now i’m equally a fan of both. He worked on this project with his homie Darien Birks. Its a free download so please support by donating or even coppin a fresh t-shirt.

More after the jump.

TYS x Loyal Kaspar Shoot

Back with another video for ya’ll. Me and Borish from the Trust Your Struggle crew recently went by the Loyal Kaspar studio to shoot some opening sequences, motion graphics, and bumpers for the TYS Sa Pilipinas Tour that we are trying do this summer. I shot some behind the scenes footage while i was there. These guys are really dope, they had pizza, beer and fuseball waiting for us while we shot. Check out their site at Loyal Kaspar. They got some pretty big clients like showtime, HBO, Vh1 and Disney just to name a few. Loyal Kaspar provides non profits with some Pro-bono work as part of their comunity engagement which is DOPE! Our folks at World Up hooked up the oppurtunity for us. So I put this lil clip together from that night, enjoy!

A Tattoo Grows in Brooklyn

Brooklyn/Curry/Tattoo So I’ve been trying to get into a new medium, video. I’ve been borrowing my homie’s D90 cams to shoot some HD stuff. It’s really more about capturing these moments and these people I surround myself with. Everyone we spend our time with is always a little part of us. So I just wanna start sharing with you all the people that essentially make me. Even if they don’t know it. Some of these people I have spent some time with and some have influenced me with the beautiful work that they do. I hope to show a range of interviews, intimate convos and some just plain ol’ inspiring shit. Hope you like it.

Would like to start with the talented young Aja Monet. A “seedhead dandelion born in Brooklyn”.

Guide to Liberation

This Project has evolved beyond my initial idea. In fact to be honest with you , it has taken on a life of its own. I started with just a little series of monotone designs and it has evolved into a interactive comunity based project with the goal of an actual publication. It has evolved into a series of videos that I could never had seen coming. For real folks, this is some kinda crazy to me. But I have been using this quote to describe THAT.

“I imply I began this ‘project’, let me amend that by saying the ‘project’ began itself out of its own need to be. I have acted as vehicle.” – adapted from Floyd B. Barbour introduction to “The Black Power Revolt”

So a series of t-shirts has grown into quite possibly a year long community driven project. My hopes and aspirations are out of control on this one folks and not even the sky is the limit. Calling this project ‘provoking’ is an understatement.

“We won’t fight to save the present society….We are just going to work, in the way we see fit, and on goals we define, not for civil rights but for all our human rights.”
